Library ladders are timeless and there are some great new styles coming out. You can get them in the traditional wood or stainless steel now. There's also some great new hardware that allows you to make them permanent or removable and allows you to turn corners, as you can see in the pic above. I imagine it won't be too long before this trend becomes very popular, not just for its aesthetic reasons, but it's very functional, as well.
